Evaluation of Different Sex Reversal Treatments in Red Tilapia Hybrid

Effects of dietary inclusion Tribulus terrestris and 17 ?-methyltestosterone on sex reversal, growth performance, feed utilization, survival rates red tilapia were evaluated in this study. Red fry with an average weight 0.02 ±0.003 g length 0.6 ±0.012 cm subjected to six different reversal treatments. The experiment lasted for 112 days. Two T. extract treatments (1and 2 g/kg diet); three hormonal ( 30,60 100 mg/kg diet), applied plus a control group. results study revealed that all plant treatment showed significantly higher male percentages (p?0.05) than the control. highest percentage (90%) was achieved at dose 60 mg ?-methyltestosterone/kg followed by  2 (84.4%). Growth performance utilization better two T.terrestris extract, diet, other A rate 85.44%, 83.33%, 83.11% 1 g  extract/kg respectively. lowest (71.56%) observed ? -MT/ kg diet (p ? .05). Testes compared gonado-somatic index records found extract/ Conclusively, addition and  –MT into hybrid diets contributes producing almost all-male population enhancing fish.
